BANK STATEMENT OCR REVIEW CHECKLIST RasterLift | https://www.rasterlift.com Use this checklist to compare extracted transaction data with the read-only source statement before relying on a CSV or Excel export. It is a practical quality-control aid, not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. BEFORE EXTRACTION [ ] Work from a duplicate or securely stored source; do not alter the original. [ ] Confirm every statement page is present and in the correct order. [ ] Check that pages are upright, uncropped, and readable at normal zoom. [ ] Confirm the statement period, account label, and currency. [ ] Remove passwords only in an authorized local workflow, if required. DOCUMENT-LEVEL REVIEW [ ] Confirm opening and closing balances against the source statement. [ ] Confirm the first and last transaction dates fit the statement period. [ ] Check page transitions for missing, repeated, or overlapping rows. [ ] Compare the extracted row count with the visible source rows. [ ] Note continuation pages and wrapped transaction descriptions. ROW-BY-ROW REVIEW [ ] Verify each transaction date. [ ] Verify each description, including wrapped text and reference numbers. [ ] Verify money-out and money-in direction; do not rely on sign alone. [ ] Verify decimal places, separators, and currency symbols. [ ] Verify running balances where the source provides them. [ ] Review blank fields and low-confidence fields against the source. [ ] Check for duplicated rows, skipped rows, and merged transactions. [ ] Record corrections without changing the read-only source document. RECONCILIATION [ ] Test: opening balance + money in - money out = closing balance. [ ] Investigate any difference instead of forcing the totals to match. [ ] Check whether fees, interest, reversals, or pending items explain a gap. [ ] Confirm every unresolved issue remains clearly flagged. EXPORT AND HANDOFF [ ] Open the downloaded CSV or Excel file and spot-check several rows. [ ] Confirm dates and amounts are stored in usable columns. [ ] Confirm Excel includes Summary, Transactions, and Review Flags sheets. [ ] Restrict sharing to people who need the financial document. [ ] Follow your retention policy for source files and working copies. [ ] Record who reviewed the output and when.
